SEARCA Travel Grants for ASEAN 2011-2012

SEARCA Travel Grants. To strengthen its efforts and resources center in the promotion of agricultural competitiveness and natural resource management to food security and poverty alleviation in the region, SEARCA will provide Travel Grants to qualified agriculture and agriculture-related professionals and social scientists, including graduate students.

Travel Grant will provide financial support to a maximum of U.S. $ 1,200 for qualified applicants who will present scientific papers in international scientific forums or local.

The purpose of the grant

Here is the purpose of SEARCA Travel Grant:

1. To provide opportunities to the citizens of Southeast Asian countries which are eligible to participate and present papers in conferences or scholarly forums, local or international.

2. To promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge / information vital for agriculture and rural development.

3. To provide Grantee’s place to discuss with other scientists and the development of scholars in their respective disciplines.

4. To produce goods or publication of any of Grantee’s paper presented, whenever appropriate and feasible.

Requirements for the grant which

Applicant must:

1. Be the first Southeast Asian national who is a member of staff development-oriented institutions or graduate students from a leading university in Southeast Asia.

2. Preparing and presenting a paper which was held along the central and local relevance (poster presentation will not be considered for these grants).

3. Be supported by / supervisor / head of the direct / major professor.

4. Willing to own / her paper published in the form of appropriate publications.

5. If possible, willing to present / papers on SEARCA’s Agriculture and Development Seminar Series.

6. Delivering post-trip report within 30 days after the conference, highlighting the observations, lessons learned, and recommendations.

Application Procedures

- Letters of recommendation from the head of the direct / supervisors / major professor from the applicant;
- A summary of two pages (single spaced, 8.5 × 11 sheets) of paper for presentation to the conference;
3. Copies of the conference organizers received a letter from a paper for presentation;
4. A copy of the conference program; and
5. CVs of applicants.
