Applicants are invited for a full-time PhD Scholarship in Software Engineering Group at the Department of Computing, City University London to conduct research in the field of Software Architecture and Formal Systems Analysis. This scholarship is funded by the European Union research project IOT @ Work (FP7-257 367).

This scholarship is available to both UK / EU students who pay and abroad is only open to applicants who will study full-time. The scholarships, since June 1, 2010, including the scholarship of £ 14,000 per year (in addition to a full exemption of school fees) for three years.

Ideal candidate will have a degree in Computing (or in a subject numeracy with a substantial component in computing) or equivalent relevant professional experience, and master’s degrees in Computer Science.

You must have:

1. research potential or proven excellence (please provide copies of published / submitted papers, if any);
2. being able to work as a member of the research team;
3. strong technical skills and experience in Java programming;
4. excellent communication skills and reporting; and

Appointed candidates are expected to undertake PhD studies in the field of Software Architecture and Formal Systems Analysis in line with the work program for the City University in London in the IOT @ Work project, and to collaborate with other partners of the project and members of the School of Informatics in accordance with the needs of IOT @ Work.
