Latest Info Swedish IFS Research Grants Scholarships 2011

IFS Granting Programme is open for project proposals from developing country scientists who meet the eligibility criteria and conduct research on the management of biological resources in a sustainable manner. An IFS Research Grant has a maximum value of USD 12,000. This is given to an individual researcher, for a particular research project, submitted by the applicant in the application form. IFS Research Grant is intended to purchase the basic tools needed to conduct the proposed research project – equipment, discarded equipment, and literature – and to arrange fieldwork activities related to the proposed project. It is expected that the recipient has received a salary of IFS and was employed by or attached to the developing country research institutions. Duration of a research project must usually be 1-3 years.

Requirements: A candidate eligible for an IFS research grants:

- Citizens of developing countries, including Indonesia.
- A scientist with experience at least a Master’s or equivalent degree / research
- Under 40 years, and early research career (45 years in sub-Saharan Africa)
- Installed to the university, national research institutions or research-oriented NGOs in developing countries.

When registering:
Project proposals are welcome at the IFS Secretariat throughout the year. For administrative purposes, we have two application deadlines, June 30 and December 31. However, we encourage you to not wait until the deadline – please submit your application at least one month earlier. Applying the initial six-month cycle allows us to contact you for more information if necessary.
